Clare studied law at Sheffield University where she also completed the Legal Practice Course. She then went on to train and qualify as a Solicitor at a large Manchester city centre practice specialising in personal injury .
Clare joined Hilary Meredith Solicitors in 2007 where she was promoted to Partner in 2010 and now sits on the Board as a Director. She now works exclusively for claimants specialising in serious injury cases including fatal accidents. Clare has particular expertise in dealing with cases against the Ministry of Defence and heads the firm’s military team.
She has considerable experience in representing families at inquests to help them establish the facts surrounding the loss of their loved one. She has acted in many high profile military and non- military cases including a “friendly fire” strike involving the US where three British Soldiers were killed and two seriously injured, and the families of two young air cadets killed in a mid-air collision.
Clare understands that dealing with an inquest can be overwhelming and provides sensitive yet professional advice; she has been praised by the families she represents for her “compassion”, “support” and “personal care”.
Once an inquest is over, Clare can advise on whether a legal claim can be brought.
In 2011 Clare’s department won Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence Team of the Year and were Finalists in Pro Bono Team of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards 2011.
Clare has been highlighted as “impressing” by the Legal 500 2013.
